...i finished up a baby quilt that lived up to it's name of "super quick + easy". it was a project from "last minute patchwork and quilted gifts", and it took me less than an hour to complete. most certainly the fastest baby blanket i've ever made, and i love how it turned out - just like the photograph in the book, minus the sweet, sleeping baby (i resisted the urge to sneak into ben's room and put it on him).
i opted for two blue and white dot fabrics, as they seemed to go together really well and looked just right for a newborn baby boy.
the trickiest part of the project was figuring out which stitch to use. the directions made mention to satin stitch oval, but i couldn't find this option on my machine, so i substituted it with the cresent stitch
this quilt reminded me of the tie quilts my grandmother had in abundance around her house - the overall project was simple + sweet. i made a total of three using the same two fabrics - two for little boys recently born, and one to list on etsy. i have some vintage pink fabric that would work well for this project that i may use in the future. my first project from "last-minute patchwork and quilted gifts" went so well i'm looking forward to the next few.

that little crescent stitch is too cute!
Hi, I couldn't figure out another way to contact you. I need help and I hope you can! I am trying to make this quilt, too. However, when I turn it inside out, the front and back fabrics are on the wrong side. I think I assembled my layers correctly. Althought, not sure. According to the book, I had my front fabric right side up on top, then back fabric wrong side up, then batting. Is that how you did this too? If you would like to email me (*please*), julietmuller at gmail dot com.
Thanks in advance!
