muffin tin & colored sugar cookie fun...

...this week's muffin tin challenge was halloween. fun, fun. i opted to go with black, orange and white foods - using up some of the things we had in our kitchen and cupboard...

contents: black beans, cubed cheese, rasins, mandarin oranges, vanilla yogurt with chocolate sprinkles, goldfish

there are some really creative contributions to the challenge here - so much fun to look at. as a side note, sycamore stirrings, the originator of muffin tin mondays, is about to embark on a fabulous adventure living abroad in Luxenbourg. i can't wait to read about her adventures living there.

we took the orange and black color scheme a bit further, and made colored sugar cookies. over the weekend, ben had so much fun with my sister and brother-in-law (who are rocking their roles as aunt & uncle) making cut-out cookies that i thought we'd make some more - this time using orange and black food coloring.

one batch of sugar cookie dough divided in half, lots of orange coloring, and just a bit of black later, we had 20 orange jack-o-lanterns, and 10 black cats (i still haven't figured out where the rest of the cats went...)

...the magic of a little food coloring!
